About Apprenticeships Victoria

Apprenticeships Victoria aims to increase participation in high-quality apprenticeships and traineeships, to support the state’s economic sustainability and create opportunities for all Victorians.

Apprenticeships Victoria (AV) is here to enable real and rewarding apprenticeships and traineeships for all Victorians, including:

  • Young people just starting out in the workforce.
  • Workers aiming to re-skill and make a fresh start.
  • Retrenched apprentices and trainees looking to get back on track with training.
  • Women, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and First Nations people.

There are many great opportunities for apprentices and trainees who are keen to earn while they learn, develop real-world skills and get an up-close view of what their future career could look like.

Apprenticeships Victoria oversees and coordinates the employment and training of apprentices and trainees across all industry sectors and areas of the state. This includes school-based apprenticeships and traineeships and mainstream apprenticeships and traineeships.

Apprenticeships Victoria is a division within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. We represent a partnership between the Victorian Government, major project employers and the TAFE and training system.

We’re delivering more job opportunities for apprentices and trainees looking to start a career in the construction and infrastructure sector. We’re also responsible for broader apprenticeship policy and programs.

Apprenticeships Victoria was established in March 2021.
